Afternoon Tea at Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas

Ever since enjoying afternoon tea at the Prince of Wales in Niagara-On-The-Lake, we’ve been looking for the next best place for scones and a cup of relaxation. It was refreshing to see that in the heart of party-central Las Vegas there existed this tranquility at the Mandarin Oriental. This hotel, like Vdara, doesn’t have a casino and the lobby is uniquely situated on the upper level. The Tea Lounge is located right next to the lobby, with a view facing the north end of the strip.

Clotted cream and jams. The jams were sweet, but not as fragrant as the ones from Greaves in Niagara. The teas were on the weaker side as well (not that flavourful). Maybe they just needed to be steeped a bit longer?

This is a great place to rest your legs after a day of shopping. While the food was tasty and dainty, we would have preferred richer tasting tea and larger portions for each dish. The view from our table was remarkable and the service was attentive. A great place for a change of pace!

Cheers,

Melissa
