It’s a Boy!

James' Ultrasound 2000

I can’t believe it’s finally March. The warmer weather and sunnier skies sure know how to jumpkick (and punch) the Winter blues. Joseph and I haven’t been eating out much lately, partly because the snow and ice make it difficult to get around, but MAINLY because I’m pregnant (and nauseous). That’s right, there’s a baby on the way! Baby boy is currently 21 weeks old, and I’m feeling a whole lot better than I did in my first trimester. We’re more than excited to become parents! I haven’t started shopping for baby things yet because the weather’s been so terrible, but that will be in order once Spring comes around. There are just SO many cute things out there, where do I even begin?

I’m definitely going to savour this journey, and really get to know my belly. My hormones are dictating what I eat, and so far it’s been healthy foods. I haven’t had any cravings yet except for soupy noodles, and McDonald’s Sausage and Egg McMuffins a while back, but even that went away after 2 days. However, there are certain things that I don’t like: I can’t stand the scent of roasted chicken, I hate greasy foods, and if there’s ginger and onion on anything just forget about it. My nose is like a bloodhound’s – I can smell a scent a mile away, and more often than not it makes me nauseous. I like golden kiwis, butter croissants, eggplant, and apple juice. For someone who used to enjoy food so much, it’s difficult to be this choosy (and not by choice), but hey – anything for my baby ;).

Cheers,

Melissa
